People

Since my best friend wrote about me in her facebook note a few times already, i think it’s better if i take this chance to write something about her and other friends as well.

My life during the past few years really have something more than the previous. I got to know more about myself and people around and ,most importantly, got to be someone’s best friend. It may sound so normal, but i think friends are something i treasure the most. Now, let me tell you about my friends.

Let’s begin with Forth, she’s the one who inspired me to wrote this entry. I knew her since i was in the first year as we arIMG_5373e both English major. But at that time, I knew her as someone in the faculty, in a leader gang, those who are very active in doing activities and always go everywhere in the campus with big group of friends around her. We met in a Speaking class once, she sat next to me. But after a few lectures, i got exempted. So that was it. We didn’t know each other very much after that. But still, occasionally, we still get to talk and stuff. Then, when we were in the second year, i joined an exchange programme in Southeast Asia for 2 months. So i only have 1 class for the whole term, and it was not even English, it was law! 555 So i hardly get a chance to meet anyone in the major.

Lonely Nanny, i was hoping that when i moved to Thaprachan, i would have more friends as the campus is much smaller and where we will have more chance to be in the same class in the people from the same major. However, i totally forgot that the fact that i joined the exchange programme would result in my schedule. Most of people in my major have studied ahead of me, but, i should say they were not ahead of me, but it’s me that behind them ’cause i was away for 2 months, i have at least 4-5 subjects to catch up.  Therefore, my 3rd year at uni was a very tough one. I had to study with either a senior or a junior as well as those from outside of major because these classes are the one that people in my year have already taken when i was away.(sorry Forth, this paragraph’s not really about you : P )

Then come to the last year of uni. This is when my life became normal again and this is when i really get to know Forth. I had classes with people in the same year and many of which i had with her. Since we start going out together (on 10th November, thx for remembering this!) I really felt that we got along together very well. I feel comfortable to tell her almost about everything. She’s not the kind of person who would laugh at you and say how stupid you were if you shared her a silly mistake you made. And, somehow, she changed the way i think and the way i behave myself a lot. Before i met her, i was very quiet. After school is when you see me heading back to my dorm. But after i got to know forth, i know how meaningful a day can be to enjoy it to the fullest. Do crazy things, laugh, smile, teasing friends, talking silly. These are all what i used to think they are ‘improper’ and, therefore, should avoid doing it. But spending my time with her made me realised that these are what made life colourful. You will have something to remember, to talk about when you are older and remind you how fun a life can be.

Another thing i learn from her is to be caring. Forth is really a friend you want to be with when you are going through a difficult time, whatever it is about. She made you feel like you are not on your own and that you will always be supported and encouraged.

Wow can’t believe that was 600+ words just about Forth lol, i can write about her much faster than my essay!

Now, let’s talk about Maprang. She’s more quiet than i am actually, but still she taught me a lot of things during my time with her at Thammasat. I met Maprang for the first time when i went to buy accessories at a shop by Thaprachan. She was with her mum and i was with my mum. Both of us were buying buttons for our TU uniform. We didn’t talk to each other but i recognised her face since then. Maprang was in the same class as mine when we were in the second years, just before i went to the exchange programme. But we didn’t talk that much. She was in the same group as Forth. The cool group of the faculty that fulled of popular people. Therefore, there’s very little chance that i would become close with her.

Our story begin again when we were in 3rd year. This is when we had the same writiDSC_0283ng class at Thaprachan and there were about 7 people in the class. We talked more when we were in class which we studied with ‘taughest teacher’ who turned out to be one of the best teacher too. Therefore, we started to go out and eat after class, take the same boat when we go home and so on. But as I said, my third year was a tough one since i have to take subjects that all my friends have taken, so i get to be closer with Maprang when i was in the last year. We have every class together,in both campuses. So we spent at least 6-7 hours a day together if we have a class all day.

Maprang is very similar to Forth in that she’s someone you can comfortably tell anything about, either good or bad things. She has a lot of sympathy when you need her support and that really explains what friends are for. The way she do things for her other friends, somehow, have taught me how to be a good friend. It’s not just caring and accompanying each other, but also some other things that you would do for someone you love , like defending for a friend. And, similar to Forth, she showed me how fun life can be without worrying about grade too much. It’s not that she’s setting a bad example for me, instead the way she handled with homework made me think that I don’t have to push myself too much, because doing so, my life will just be more miserable and i would missed the fun part when doing homework – leaving it to last minute! lol  My uni life would have been a lot more boring without her.

I also remember one day after class, we just sat by the river at Thaprachan and talk about ourselves, sharing thoughts and ideas and it was a very nice day. I felt that she’s the one with an open minded personality and that you want to share lots of things with and that really made you feel relieved.

You may see that i emphasised about enjoying my time to the fullest quite a lot because this is mainly what i learn from two of them. Maprang and Forth were, many times, the reason i woke up and go to school for. Without them, my study would be much different, and i would feel much more difficult, so, thank you.

I can’t believe i wrote more that 1000 words about two people lol. But i really hope that i can write more entry about other people and other things as well, if my master is not consuming my time and energy this much -_-

Anyway thanks for reading up til here xxx

My class of 2005

After 4 years of studying, here are some of the facts about English majors that I could think of.

  1. English majors hate maths. This include all kinds of calculation even easy one like 7+5
  2. 97 % of English majors are bad at drawing. The other 3 % are Nui, Kratae and Tan, the only 3 persons in our major whose drawing are so good that they should have taken a fine art course.
  3. English majors will never have a common room where it is actually ‘common’ to sit and read there.
  4. Some of the English majors don’t know my name and I don’t know many of theirs.
  5. English majors whose proficiency are extremely perfect are normally those who have never spent a year in abroad, but not all, of course.
  6. English majors are normally the one who are being suffered from the EG Quota system and will always will
  7. 99% of English majors hate EG211 Significant Features of English. The only person who said she likes it was Mint, if I remember correctly.
  8. 95% is women, 1 % is male , the rest is unidentify (!?!)

to be continued…
